Project of the Day: A Sordid Incident Turns Violent for Virginia Brothers and Sisters

Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

"Hurricane"

Tweetable Logline:

A rare glimpse into the lives of a brother and sister, trapped in a path of destruction.

Elevator Pitch:

H U R R I C A N E is unlike any film you've ever experienced, but at the same time has a dramatic structure similar to movies you love and are very familiar with. Our main characters are DAVON & HAZEL WASHINGTON, a brother and sister who live in a project in Richmond, VA. When a sordid incident involving the siblings turns violent a cop is left dead, and DAVON & HAZEL have nobody to turn to. The result is a cat-and-mouse chase that will revitalize the "On the run" story, and pose timely questions about contemporary violence.

Production Team:

Starring Davon Washington & Hazel Washington

Written, Produced, & Directed by Miles Dixon
Art Direction by Dini Dixon

This is a very "home-grown" operation, so many of the key-crew/ technicians have not been selected yet and probably won't be for a little ways down the road. We can't wait to find the right people to help tell our story.

About the Production:

First and foremost we want to make H U R R I C A N E because its story is relevant to our time, and because we feel this particular subject matter has not been done justice. The other thing that we're really excited about is giving people a new experience, one that they won't forget.

Current Status:

In production.

I have been fortunate to have followed the making of the film from the beginning ... Miles is a long time admirer of films with well developed characters and well crafted story lines.
I know that Miles will bring the same intensity and drive to this project as he has to all of his previous work.
    Go get it!!
