"Thou Wast Mild and Lovely"
|A sensual thriller inspired by "East of Eden" and starring love, death, guns, goats, and a farm in the wilds of Kentucky.|
Partly told from the perspective of a cow, "Thou Wast Mild and Lovely" is a narrative feature film about the sensual inner life of a woman, her father, and the man they hire to work their farm. Directed by Josephine Decker (named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film") and inspired by John Steinbeck’s “East of Eden,” the film is an intimate magical realist erotic thriller. It's simultaneously a horror film, a farm drama, a comedy, a sexual romp, and a deep character study with an amazing cast that includes Joe Swanberg, Robert Longstreet, and Sophie Traub.
