"The Joneses"
Tweetable Logline:
Elevator Pitch:
THE JONESES follows the family’s individual journeys to find love. Trevor is a 34 yr old virgin, Brad born with brain damage, and Jheri was formerly their father. As 3 single adults living under one trailerpark roof in small town Mississippi, they’re each ready to find romance.
Spitfire matriarch and "golden girl" Jheri Jones is searching for a good man. FKA Jerry, Jheri changed her name after gender reassignment surgery a few years prior. After initially dismissed by her sons, the passing of Jheri’s ex-wife forced the family back together, helping give them each the confidence to find true love.
Production Team:
Director/Cinematographer: Moby Longinotto
Producer: Aviva Wishnow ("Blank City")
In Association with Pure Fragment Films
About the Production:
"Nearly two years ago, THE JONESES was created as a short doc for Channel 4 / Britdocs and screened at a handful of film festivals, before British Director Moby Longinotto decided a feature documentary would be needed to tell the intricate story of this very unique family.
"The Joneses are truly a dynamic, heartwarming and slightly dysfunctional family, and the footage I've seen reminds me of a modern “Grey Gardens” -- if doing comparisons. I know I immediately fell in love with the main 'character' Jheri Rae Jones and the rest of her family." -- Moby Longinotto
Current Status:
In production.
