Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

"Runner without a Country"

Tweetable Logline:

A documentary about a refugee marathon runner who ran in the London Olympics without a country

Elevator Pitch:

Runner Without a Country follows the amazing journey of Guor Marial from refugee to elite athlete. The film brings to life Guor's escape from Sudan, his unlikely Olympic qualification, the David and Goliath-esque battle to get him to compete in the games, and the international movement that got him there. Guor's story continues to unfold: he is a rising star on the marathon circuit and he has the mission to get South Sudan recognized by the world's governing body for athletics so he can finally run under the flag of South Sudan.

Production Team:

Director/Producer/Editor/Cinematographer - Bill Gallagher (Line Producer: If A Tree Falls, Production Manager: Racing Dreams)

About the Production:

Guor was born and raised in Sudan, one of the most underdeveloped countries in the world. He is now living in Arizona, and hasn't been home in 20 years and yet he found a way to become one of the world's elite marathon runners. It's a story about how passion and hard work can move mountains and inspire a country.

Current Status:

In production.
