In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.
Tweetable Logline: A unique fusion of documentary and fiction which tells the story of fugitive Bodkin who arrives in a small Scottish town for a fresh start.
Elevator Pitch: Fictional fugitive Bodkin Ras arrives in the very real town of Forres looking for a fresh start. He begins to settle in until his story is interwoven with Lily's - an 18 year old local who wants to escape boredom and the town itself. When Lily goes missing, who else is there to blame but the mysterious new arrival? A co production between The Netherlands, Belgium, Iran and Scotland set against the backdrop of the beautiful town of Forres that blurs the lines between documentary and fiction.
Producer - Raymond van de Kaaij, Revolver,Amsterdam
Writer/Director - Kaweh Modiri
Award winning filmmaker & novelist - previous short "My Burglar and I" -
About the Production: I visited Forres years ago and when I returned home I was inspired to write a short story about an intruder in the town. The town seemed so peaceful and so quiet, however I felt that there was a grim side that was hidden and my character, Bodkin, was the spark to bring this grimness out. I want people to wonder 'is this real?' because I have included both fictional and documentary aspects. Our fictional character interacts with the town's real characters and this was an extremely interesting experience that has contributed to the gripping scenes.
Current Status: Funding post-production. Money raised will go towards editing facilities and adding a soundtrack.
