Elevator Pitch:

Marlon Villar, a family man, is the long-time personal driver of Manuel Changho, a corrupt politician in Metro Manila, Philippines. While driving Mr. Changho’s preteen daughter Sophia, together with his own daughter Elvie, the three become the target of a kidnapping attempt. When the wrong girl is taken, Marlon’s life takes a sudden and violent turn which propels him into a downward spiral of deception. As events unravel, Marlon, Mr. Changho, and their families become entangled in a web of lies and corruption that will leave no one innocent.

Production Team:

Director: Ron Morales

Producers: Rebecca Lundgren and Sam Rider

Executive Producers: Eric Ulrich, David Raymond and Theo Brooks.

Director of Photography: Sung Rae Cho

Editors: Jorge Olortegui and James Lesage

About the Production:

"During my time interviewing subjects in the field, I repeatedly came across stories of kidnapping, child prostitution, and organ trafficking that hinted at a dark and ubiquitous underworld community, operating with widespread impunity throughout much of the country. I interviewed a number of people – especially young people – who had had their voices taken away from them through the tributaries of poverty, organized crime and sexual exploitation. The inability of these people to represent their daily struggles resonated strongly with me. I felt that theirs’ was the story about my homeland that I wanted to tell." - Ron Morales

Current Status:

Post-production.
