"Happy Downloadday"

Tweetable Logline:

Sundance Film Fest alum and Emmy award winner download virtual children in adult bodies

Elevator Pitch:

In a futuristic world where resources are so scarce that children aren’t even allowed to have a body, a soon-to-be 18-year-old, who has been raised his entire life in a virtual environment, refuses to be downloaded into a physical body at the risk of being deleted by his parents...

Starring in this transhumanist tale from the Singularity is Nick Eversman, last seen playing Ashley Judd's son on the TV show MISSING (ABC).

Production Team:

Director/Producer: Sophie Leclerc
Writer/Producer: Phil Ferriere
Cinematographer: Elie Smolkin
Production Designer: Alberto Gonzalez-Reyna

About the Production:

With its voluntarily provocative premise the film aims to offer a witty and refreshing perspective on the challenges faced by contemporary young adults. The right to choose our future and reality, which have inspired recent box office sensations such as 'The Hunger Games' and 'Harry Potter', drives this technology inspired short. Virtual reality, mind transfer, and video gaming are integrated parts of the film’s narrative and help it pack the critical punch of 'Blade Runner' into its own stylish interpretation.

Current Status:

Post-production.
