In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.
Tweetable Logline: A young woman with autism enlists her older sister (Eliza Dushku) to help her find her very first boyfriend.
Elevator Pitch: Explore a week in the life of Jane, a young costume designer dealing with the everyday challenges of life on the autism spectrum. Inspired by real life events, Jane takes action and enlists her big sister Bianca to help her find her very first boyfriend.Staring Eliza Dushku, Louisa Krause, Gabriel Ebert, and Amir Arison, experience this truly realistic portrayal of a young person living with autism - from the challenges and the heartache to the inspirational and comedic moments that come with it. Principal photography took place in Fall 2013, and the film is currently in post-production.
Having previously work on the feature film "Percival's Big Night", director William C. Sullivan, and writer Jarret Kerr, re-team for their third collaboration.
Anne Dempsey at Copperline Creative - a company dedicated to pushing projects into the market place with a philanthropic message - has shepherded the project from its inception.
Produced by: Lauren Brady (Merhaba), cinematography by: Brandon Roots (The Third One This Week, Straight Outta Thompkins), edited by: Casey O'Donnell (Video Sushi Edit)Casting by Stephanie Holbrook CastingAbout the Production: This isn’t a story about autism, its a story about courage. Everyone, ASD related or not, deals with their own major obstacle, whether they are born into it, or stumble into it. This is to say that in the race of life, each person deals with a completely unique, and individualized set of hurdles that they alone must overcome. I see a lot of myself in Jane, and others will too. Yet, it's the unfaltering bravery with which she tackles the world around her, her ambition, and her courage that inspires me, not her obstacles.
Current Status: In post production, seeking finishing funds for sounds design, composition, mix, color correction, deliverables, and film festival submissions. For more information and to support this project: Kickstarter Page
