"Something in the Water"
A new feature documentary on Long Island's unique subculture hardcore music scene.
A new feature length documentary on Long Island's counterculture hardcore/punk music scene. The film examines the progression of Long Island's hardcore music scene, from when it first stepped out of the shadows of the well established New York Hardcore scene in the late 80's, to developing it's own unique sound in the 90's, spawning a number of bands and eventually influencing some of today's mainstream music and leaving its mark on the genre.
Director: Chris Lilli
Producer: Nick Lilli
Producer: William Miller
About the Production:
"I grew up in Long Island, NY. My brother Nick and I have been going to punk/hardcore shows for the past 18 years. We quickly realized that there was more to this scene than just music - it also had a strong sense of community." -- Chris Lilli
