Tweetable Logline:
A poetic, emotional portrait of a first-generation Somali immigrant high-school girl living in Minneapolis.
Elevator Pitch:
During the coldest winter on record in Minneapolis, a Somali highschool student, Awo, discovers an abandoned Planet Hollywood restaurant in the world’s largest mall. Teaming with her art school friends, Awo launches an underground club deep within the bowels of the Mall of America.
As the club grows in influence amongst the city's youth, Awo and her team begin to unleash a plan for reshaping their city, America, and the world.

Capturing the true story of a new generation as they come of age, "Werewolves in the Mall of America"assembles a cast of real young people as they construct what comes after nationality, after race, and after the 20th century.

About the Production:
"I'm more interested in cinema as a vehicle for things outside of cinema. I like to utilize the process of making the film as a part of the film. Mike Leigh has a way of working to fill the script: he uses improvisational games with his actors. Herzog hypnotized a small town in order to act a certain way for a film. That process is super important to me. So much of it's going to grow out of everything behind it. The ideas, the collaborators.
"Right now, I'm looking for new laser technologies, ways of projecting stuff. Strangely, I'm talking to people who work for the US government, and a guy who works in experiential design. After he left the military, he worked with megachurches, developing architectural lighting and sound. I've been crawling into the bowels of malls all over the place. All the while, I've been talking to cultural theorists and artists like Alexander Jodorovsky, asking them: Once you get teenagers together and you want to get them to create their own culture, what do you do?" -- Jake Yuzna
