Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

"In Pursuit of Silence"

Tweetable Logline:

An experiential documentary exploring the value of silence, our relationship with sound, and the implications of living in a noisy world.

Elevator Pitch:

It's loud but I need you to hear me. Noise is killing people. We don't think about it or see it as a problem but it's true. There are studies to prove this. So I'm making a film about silence. (long silent pause) Silence is becoming more rare in our day to day lives but it is exactly what we need. Silence restores us and it inspires us. This film, In Pursuit of Silence needs to be made now and I can do it but I need your help.

Production Team:

Director/Producer/Editor/Cinematographer - Patrick Shen

About the Production:

"An immersive and experiential film that features powerful stories about real people, their pursuit of silence, their relationship with sound and interviews with experts at the forefront of mind-blowing research. Borrowing from both the verite and experimental traditions, I plan to use silence, sound, and meditative, cinematic moments to make this film just as much OF something as it is ABOUT something. Like everyone else, I’m immersed in noise all day long. I didn’t know at first what it was about silence that intrigued me so much other than that I had virtually no experience of it in my life." -- Patrick Shen
