"The Ballad of Hugh"
Move over Bieber! Outta the way, M.I.A.! The next big thing is here. He’s ready. He’s hungry. He’s 82.
It's about an 82 year old trying to make it in music biz. In 1962, Hugh handed lyrics over the fence to his neighbor, Glyn Johns, who at the time was a struggling singer. Glyn went on to become one of the biggest producers of all time. Hugh, on the other hand, got married, had 4 kids, moved to Canada, worked at the University of Toronto and forgot about music. Now, after the 50 years, he has decided to rekindle his flirtation with the music business. We watch as he tries.
Marco DiFelice, It's my first film ever.
About the Production:
I have felt compelled to make a film about Hugh for over 10 years now. He teaches us that any age is a good age to dream, to play, to write, to learn. I feel this is an important message in an ageist society, and once you see Hugh in action, you will realize he is the perfect messenger.
