Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

"Christmas Bytes"

Tweetable Logline:

Christmas, 1982. 14 yr-old Gary wants a game console. His pal Pickford? A girlfriend. A film about 8-bit schemes, arcade dreams & 1st love.

Elevator Pitch:

Christmas season. 1982. A typical Midwestern suburb. Best friends Gary Green and Scottie Pickford, two restless 14-year-olds, while away the few days before Christmas. Gary, a self-described video game nut, pines for his own video game console while Pickford broods over the seventeen year-old neighborhood fox, Janelle Housten. Gary and Scottie will face untold dangers, try to protect their fragile egos, all while hopelessly watching the innocence of Christmases past disappear into the winter sky like old Saint Nick himself.

Production Team:

Director: Duncan Riddell
Writer/Producer: Brett Neveu
Producer: Dule Hill ("Psych," "The West Wing"), Steven A. Jones, Meghan Schumacher
Cast: Michael Shannon ("Boardwalk Empire," "Revolutionary Road," "Take Shelter") - actor
Music: The Residents
Cinematographer: Peter Baigi

About the Production:

"The film is a love story written to both the Atari 2600 as well as the holiday generosity of my mom and dad. The story -- about first love, divorced parents, desperation, humility, best friends and 80's angst -- is a shout out to those who find solutions in the oddest of places. Whether it's video games, a party in the basement of your folks' house or helping a pal out of a jam, CHRISTMAS BYTES speaks to the uncomfortable everywhere and tells them things might just work out in the end. Although maybe not in the way you expected." -- Brett Neveu

Current Status:

Pre-Production.
