The full lineup for the 18th edition of Rendez-Vouz with French Cinema has been announced by The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Unifrance Films. The joint annual showcase of contemporary French cinema runs from February 28 - March 10, and will hold screenings at New York's Lincoln Center, IFC Center, BAM, and the Paris Theater.
The festival is set to open with Regis Roinsard's comedy "Populaire," starring Deborah Francois and Romain Duris, while Giles Legrand's drama "You Will Be My Son" closes the festival.
Among the other highlights among this year's lineup are "In The House," "The Bad Girl," "The Nun," and Gilles Bourdos "Renoir," a biopic following the young French filmmaker's relationship with his painter father after being wounded in World War I. Bourdos' film will be accompanied in the festival by a partial retrospective of Jean Renoir's filmography, including "The Rules of the Game" and "The River."
Attendees of this year's festival include actors Audrey Tautou, Patrick Mille, Romain Duris, Niels Arestrup, and François Ozon, whose contribution "In The House," is nominated for the 2013 César for Best Film, Director and Actor.
In addition to the screenings held in New York, the festival has partnered with Emerging Pictures to offer a select number of the festival's films in theaters across the country via the studios network of digital theaters. This will include a live stream of the festival's Q&As following the NY screenings, allowing all audiences both in and out of the city to take part.
