The coming-of-age rock drama "Janie Jones," which had its premiere at Toronto 2010, will be released by Tribeca Film on October 27.

The film follows Alessandro Nivola as a fading rock star who unexpectedly gains a teenage daughter (Abigail Breslin) when her mother (Elizabeth Shue) leaves her in his care. While their bond develops, he discovers his daughter's musical talent.

The film received mixed reviews upon its premiere, with Screen calling it "modestly watchable" for Breslin's and Nivola's performances, despite the movie's "embarrassingly cliché moments."
