The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (or SAGs) were handed out tonight in Los Angeles. The awards are seen as a fairly reliable predictor of eventual Oscar winners. Last year, three of the four acting winners (Sean Penn, Kate Winslet, and Heath Ledger) went on to win Oscars, while best ensemble winner "Slumdog Millionaire" went on to become the Academy's best picture.
Tonight's winners:
Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
Inglourious Basterds
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role
Sandra Bullock, "The Blind Side"
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
Jeff Bridges, "Crazy Heart"
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role
Mo'Nique, "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire"
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role
Christoph Waltz, "Inglourious Basterds"
