William Sten Olsson's "An American Affair, a "presidential thriller" starring Gretchen Mol and Noah Wyle, has been acquired by Screen Media Films. The company acquired worldwide rights from Astrakan Films and has readied the film for a US theatrical release on February 27, 2009. The deal was negotiated by President of Screen Media Films Robert Baruc and Executive Vice President David Fannon. Astrakan Films was represented by ICM and attorney William Archer. Screen Media will launch the film in 5 US cities including New York, Los Angeles, and Washington DC, and will platform nationwide thereafter. It will introduce the film to international buyers at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival.
