by indieWIRE (April 3, 1998)
by Mark Rabinowitz William Nicholson's "Firelight," which stars Sophie Marceau ("Braveheart") and Stephen Dillane ("Welcome To Sarajevo") has been chosen as the opening night film for the 24th Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) which is set to run from May 21 - June 14. Highlights include a mini-fest, Siganme A Espana (Follow Me to Spain), spotlighting new films and directors from Spain. In a prepared statement, Festival Director Darryl Macdonald said, "I'll admit to being more than a little perplexed at the statement from Cannes last week that there was a dearth of good American independent pictures to program.
