Jonathan Sehring has been promoted to President of IFC Films, a new
division of Bravo Networks that, among other duties, will oversee the
Independent Film Channel's film production from the two companies it formed
in March -- IFC Productions, a feature film production company; and Next
Wave Films, the low budget finishing funds company headed by Peter
Broderick. Sehring will also oversee the management of all film
acquisitions for both domestic and international networks. The
announcement was made by Bravo Network President Kathleen Dore who
explained that the new division furthers the network's goal to "become a
significant force in the world of independent filmmaking and to build a
long term library asset."
Sehring commented that IFC Productions will aim to produce 3 to 5 projects,
while Next Wave Films' goal is to supply finishing funds for three to six
low budget productions.
