Sehring Named President Of New 'IFC Films'

by indieWIREJonathan Sehring has been promoted to President of IFC Films, a newdivision of Bravo Networks that, among other duties, will oversee theIndependent Film Channel's film production from the two companies it formedin March -- IFC Productions, a feature film production company; and NextWave Films, the low budget finishing funds company headed by PeterBroderick. Sehring will also oversee the management of all filmacquisitions for both domestic and international networks. Theannouncement was made by Bravo Network President Kathleen Dore whoexplained that the new division furthers the network's goal to "become asignificant force in the world of independent filmmaking and to build along term library asset."Sehring commented that IFC Productions will aim to produce 3 to 5 projects,while Next Wave Films' goal is to supply finishing funds for three to sixlow budget productions.
