Following its Tribeca premiere, the Kings of Leon doc "Talihina Sky" has been acquired by Showtime and will debut on the network August 21.
The film tracks the hugely popular rock band's wise to fame from humble beginnings in the Bible Belt. Talihina, Oklahoma, is the scene of their family reunion, where the film kicks off. Stephen C. Mitchell, friend of the band and a first-time director, uses home videos, interviews and behind-the-scenes material to tell the story of the Followills, the sons of of a Pentecostal preacher who became award-winning rockers.
Casey McGrath produced, with the band members serving as exec-producers. Check out the trailer below:
