Multi-media entrepreneurs can compete for "a $5000 seed round financing
prize" at the upcoming Silicon Alley '98 conference in New York. Scheduled
to take place February 23-24, the conference focuses on new media, on-line
business models, advertising, content production and the "elements of
successful Internet entrepreneurship."
The $5000 prize comes from "Ready, Set, Pitch", a live event, where
selected entrepreneurs compete before venture capital experts and the
conference attendees. Judges include representatives from Microsoft, M3P, and
the William Morris Agency.
There will also be a roundtable discussion titled, "Stimulation" about the
social ramifications of an increasingly wired world. The keynote address
will be given by Esther Dyson, author of Release 2.0.
