Writer-director-producer-actor Mark Duplass has been making movies since 2002; his first feature, "The Puffy Chair," debuted at Sundance in 2005. Like many of Mark's films, that one was directed, written and produced with his brother, Jay Duplass. (The latest Duplass Bros. project, "Jeff Who Lives at Home," will be released by Paramount in March.)
However, Mark is not a filmmaking monagamist. In the last 10 years, Mark's collaborated on nearly two dozen films. In addition to Jay, Mark has worked with his wife, Katie Aselton, as well as Joe Swanberg, Noah Baumbach and Lynn Shelton. And at any large festival in which Mark Duplass has a film, there’s a better than even chance that he’s got his hands in many other projects by first, second or third degrees of separation.
So we thought we’d play a little “Six Degrees of Mark Duplass” here at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. See the full graphic here.
We know the infographic fails to emprace the full Duplassian universe. For example, Mark Duplass is in upcoming title "The Skeleton Twins" with Bill Hader, who is in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" with Kirsten Bell who is in "Safety Not Guaranteed with… Mark Duplass.
And Shannyn Sossamon is in "The End of Love" and starred in "Rules of Attraction" with Kate Bosworth, who stars in "Black Rock," which was written and executive produced by... Mark Duplass.
