Someone's in the "Kitchen" with Slamdance

The Canadian indie "Kitchen Party" has been selected as the opening night
film of the 1998 Slamdance Film Festival. The film, written and directed by
Gary Burns ("Suburbinators") is set to screen on January 16th at Park
City's Treasure Mountain Inn, and will be followed by a party and
performance by techno music pioneer, Moby. The film revolves around a
suburban party thrown by a teenager when his parents leave him overnight.
The only requirement: keep the party confined to the kitchen.
The film received the Best Emerging Director Award at the 1997 Vancouver
International Film Festival and garnered Special Mentions at the Turin
International Film Festival from both the Feature Film Competition jury and
the International Critics jury.
"Kitchen Party" was produced by Christine Haebler and John Hazlett and
stars an ensemble cast of Canadian newcomers, including Scott Speedman,
Laura Harris, Tygh Runyan, Dave Cox, Sarah Strange, A.J. Bond and Jason
