As Spike Lee's Kickstarter page starts to look like a bargain basement intent on getting rid of all of the promotional materials for Spike Lee's impressive oeuvre, he's just crossed his $1,250,000 goal today, with five days left to go.
As we reported earlier, Lee's campaign initially turned many of his fans off, but as time went on, he got the hang of the platform.
Throughout the campaign, Lee insisted that very little about the film's actual content would be revealed; he instead relied on his reputation as a filmmaker that pushed boundaries -- and buttons -- in the film industry and regularly helped out his students at the NYU film school.
In recent days, Lee has been spotlighting individual rewards that people should take note of in a "Today's Special" component of his Kickstarter page.
