What are some of the greatest financial perks of filming in your state? Mississippi has great to reasonable rates on housing, utilities, gasoline, office equipment rentals, locations, etc. And we find additional ways for productions to save money once they have chosen their locations, and we are able to directly work with a specific community.

What tax credits are available for productions in your state? Mississippi offers a cash rebate, with no tax application or third party audit. The minimum spend is $50,000.

The rebates:
25% cash back on Mississippi spend
25% cash back on non-resident payroll, above and below the line
30% cash back on resident payroll, above and below the line

We have a $20 million annual cap, an $8 million per project rebate cap*, and a $1 million salary cap*.

*(We have legislation pending that would increase the per project cap to $10 million, increase the salary cap to $5 million, and add a 5% bonus rebate to the payroll of a Veteran of the US Armed Forces.)
