What are some of the greatest financial perks of filming in your state? New Mexico has over 10 years of film incentives experience! We offer a 25% Refundable Film Production Tax Credit on direct and post production expenditures subject to state taxation for projects intended for commercial exploitation and exhibition. In addition, an innovative on-the-job training opportuntiy is also available entitled the Film Crew Advancement Program: receive a 50% reimbursement of the hourly wages from qualifying, below-the-line resident crew, which is in addition to the 25% tax credit.

With western sets and urban backdrops, New Mexico has been the location for a wide range of settings. With over 360 days of sunshine and 360 camera shots, New Mexico is just a quick flight from Los Angeles.



Are there studios and soundstages that the state hosts that filmmakers should know about? New Mexico has state-of-the-art studios and professional soundstages from 2000 to 48,000 square feet.



What can you tell us about talented labor in your state? Do you have robust union representation? New Mexico has a expansive and professional crew and vendor base with the ability to handle several productions simultaneously.


What are some of the recent productions that produced films in your state? The New Mexico Film Office provides a filmography listed online at www.nmfilm.com. Recent projects include The Lone Ranger, Breaking Bad and The Rambler.
