What tax credits are available for productions in your state? Arizona doesn't offer tax credits.
What are some of the locations in your state that filmmakers should know about? Within 40 minutes of Tucson, one can find Middle Eastern desert landscapes ("Three Kings" filmed here), Mexican Villages as well as Tijuana-like streets ("The Hangover 3" filmed Nogales AZ for Tijuana), Pine topped mountain peaks, golden grasslands ("Oklahoma" filmed here), classic saguaro laden deserts and Western towns and ranches as well as urban landscapes. Our Airplane Bone Yards are one of our most popular locations for filmmakers.
Are there studios and soundstages that the state hosts that filmmakers should know about? Tucson Convention Center Exhibit halls have been used by numerous productions. Also, warehouse space is abundant.
What can you tell us about talented labor in your state? Do you have robust union representation? We have robust union representation and are also a right to work state. We have a talented crewbase who have experience working on large and small scale productions for over 20 years.
Are there deals that you have with equipment, craft service or other suppliers to make these services more affordable? Since we are a part to the Tourism Bureau, over 600 local businesses are our partners. These partners include hotels, resorts, rental car agenicies, restaurants and caterers, attractions and popular location like Titan Missle Museum and Collassal Cave, golf courses, antiques stores and other retail businesses and more.
