The Will Steger Foundation has announced the first project for its Global Warming 101 environmental education initiative and the production of a documentary, "Baffin Island Expedition '07: The Explorers." The film will track Sir Richard Branson, his son Sam and Mount Everest mountaineer Ed Viesturs on a journey across 1,200 miles to remove villages, set to conclude in May in Iglulik with an acoustic concert. "This film will be bold in its message - that climate change is real and causing irreparable harm to people and wildlife," said Steger, in a statement. "We want viewers to discover the truth for themselves about the effects of global warming and to involve them in the needed solutions." [Eugene Hernandez]
