U.S. rights to Andre Téchiné‘s latest, “Unforgivable” have been acquired by Strand Releasing from TF1 International. Strand said Monday that the film, which debuted in the Directors Fortnight in Cannes earlier this year, will have a Spring 2012 release.

Strand Releasing has acquired all US rights to Andre Techine’s lastest film UNFORGIVABLE from TF1 International. An intricate tale of the complex relationships and history between friends, lovers and family stars Carole Bouquet and Andre Dussollier as a couple whose lives unwind against the romantic backdrop of Italy.
The deal was done between Jon Gerrans of Strand Releasing and Gregory Chambet of TF1 International.
The film had its world premiere at this past Cannes Film Festival where it screened in Director’s Fortnight.
This is the fourth film from Mr. Techine that Strand Releasing has handled, previous efforts include the highly acclaimed classic WILD REEDS, the ensemble drama THE WITNESSES and most recently the Catherine Deneuve/Michel Piccoli starrer THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN.

Strand plans for a spring 2012 release.

UNFORGIVABLE was produced by Said Ben Said and the screenplay was written by Techine and Mehdi Ben Attia which was adapted from the French novel by Philippe Djian.
