Sundance: Focus Features Falls for Zach Braff's 'Wish I Was Here'

Focus Features has acquired rights to Zach Braff's largely Kickstarter-funded "Wish I Was Here," according to Deadline. The reported $2.75 million deal marks the first major acquisition since Peter Schlessel took over Focus from James Schamus.

Focus Features has acquired rights to Zach Braff's largely Kickstarter-funded "Wish I Was Here," according to Deadline. The reported $2.75 million deal marks the first major acquisition since Peter Schlessel took over Focus from James Schamus.

The film is Braff's second following "Garden State," and in addition to Braff stars Kate Hudson, Mandy Patinkin, Josh Gad, and Jim Parsons. Focus is expected to release it on over 500 screens.
