SXSW Plans Coming Into Focus

(indieWIRE: 12.18.02) -- Organizers of the 10th South by Southwest
(SXSW) Film Conference and Festival have announced an initial list of
films and guests that are set for the 2003 event (March 7-17).
SXSW announced plans to debut the world premiere of Ron Mann's new
film, "Go Further," as well as Scott Roberts' "The Hard Word."
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the event, organizers will be
offering a retrospective of work from a number of festival favorites,
including Richard Linklater's "It's Impossible To Learn To Plow By
Reading Books," George Huang's "Swimming With Sharks," Tim McCanlies'
"Dancer, TX Pop. 81," and Aviva Kempner's "The Life and Times of Hank
Among the notable panelists set for the 2003 film conference are Sony
Pictures Classics' co-president Michael Barker, Newmarket president Bob
Berney, Magnolia Pictures President Eamonn Bowles, United Artists
president Bingham Ray, Seventh Art Releasing president Udy Epstein,
Palm Pictures' acquisitions and productions exec David Koh, attorney
