The film, which will premiere on Sunday, May 26th, is based on Scott Thorson's autobiographical book about his life with Liberace, and stars Michael Douglas as the famous performer and Matt Damon as Thorson, with whom he becomes involved. Soderbergh's final theatrical feature may have been "Side Effects," but "Behind the Candelabra" is his actual last film, at least until he inevitably unretires in a few years.
HBO has another biopic, David Mamet's "Phil Spector," set to premiere on March 24.
