Forgetting the gluttony of programs available on Sunday nights, here are your five best bets for TV every other night of the week.

Sure, Sunday tends to be overcrowded with high-end TV like "Girls," "Looking," "House of Lies," "Shameless," "True Detective" and "The Walking Dead," but what to watch the rest of the time? Every Monday, we bring you five noteworthy highlights from the other six days of the week.

"Bates Motel": Season Two Premiere
Monday, March 3 at 9 pm on A&E

Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore return as Norma and Norman Bates (respectively) in the second season premiere of A&E's "Psycho"-prequel, "Bates Motel." The 10-episode season will introduce new characters as well, including Norma's brother Caleb played by Kenny Johnson ("Sons of Anarchy," "The Shield"). Take a look at the trailer and tune in Monday for an odd night in with your mother.

"Chopped: Grandma vs. Grandma"
Tuesday, March 4 at 10 pm on Food Network

Before the "Chopped: Tournament of Stars" begins March 9, make sure you tune in to watch four grandmas duke it out in the kitchen. The elderly crowd will have to make appetizers using bacon grease, meatloaf paired with a cocktail, and then spoon out some delicious oatmeal treats in the final battle to determine whose grandma really does have the best recipe.

Saint George

"Saint George": Series Premiere
Thursday, March 6 at 9 pm on FX

Now, I'm none too enthralled to see George Lopez back in any form. After the spectacular failures -- at least, artistically - that were the "George Lopez" show and "Lopez Tonight," it's rather surprising he was able to get a shot on a network with great respect for artistic independence (I'm talking about "Louie"). Of course, I guess they also air "Anger Management"...

"Sirens": Series Premiere
Thursday, March 6 at 10 pm on USA

Starring Michael Mosley ("Scrubs," "Justified") and Kevin Daniels ("Modern Family," "Ladder 49"), "Sirens" is a new single-cam sitcom on USA Network executive produced by Denis Leary. Focusing on three EMTs in Chicago, the fourth episode (available for free online) focuses on men and women's interaction with porn in the modern world. Some of it works, some of it doesn't, but all the Chicago Bears references make it worth checking out (at least for me).

"Gucci: The Director": Documentary Premiere
Friday, March 7 at 8 pm on Showtime

Director Christina Voros spent 18 months following Frida Giannini, the Creative Director of the House of Gucci to create this 95 minute documentary. The film premiered at last year's Tribeca Film Festival and was produced by the former face of Gucci, James Franco.
