"Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United State": Series Premiere
Monday, November 12 at 8pm on Showtime

Filmmaker Oliver Stone's new ten-part documentary series, produced with historian Peter Kuznick, explores an alternate, underreported but nevertheless essential side of our national history in the 20th century, from the atomic bomb through to the fall of Communism. Having caught the first three episodes when they were screening as a special event at this year's New York Film Festival, Zach Wigon wrote that "If history's of interest to you, seeing the ways in which it's been swept away, forgotten and rationalized by American narrativizing structures will be extremely compelling."

"Catfish: The TV Show": Series Premiere
Monday, November 12 at 11pm on MTV

Developed by Ariel Schulman and Nev Schulman, two thirds of the team behind the 2010 Sundance doc "Catfish," and hosted by Nev and his friend and fellow filmmaker Max Joseph, "Catfish: The TV Show" will follow subjects who want to find out if the people they've fallen in love with online are who they say they are. Nev will help them out by flying out to where they live, doing background checks and trying to arrange a meet-up between the couple. If you found the film squirmy, how can an MTV reality show take on it not be awesomely more so?

"Eddie Murphy: One Night Only"
Wednesday, November 14 at 10pm on Spike TV

This two-hour tribute to the comedic greatness of Eddie Murphy will touch on everything from his stand-up to his work on "Saturday Night Live" to his films. A mix of sketches, musical numbers and video shorts, Spike TV's special marks the 30 year anniversary of "Delirious," and was filmed on November 3rd in Beverly Hills. Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Tracy Morgan, Arsenio Hall, Brett Ratner, Charlie Murphy, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Martin Lawrence all make appearances -- as does, of course, Murphy himself.

"Crossfire Hurricane": Broadcast Premiere
Thursday, November 15 at 9pm on HBO

The new film from "The Kid Stays In The Picture" co-director Brett Morgen is part of the Rollings Stones' celebration of 50 years together, and follows the history of the band from their formative days through eras of sex, drugs and rock and roll into the still-touring present.

"Childrens Hospital": Season Finale
Thursday, November 15 at 11:59pm on Adult Swim

The Rob Corddry-created web series-turned-TV series finished up its fourth season with an episode called "Eulogy." This season's guest stars have included Jon Hamm, Michael Cera, Kathryn Hahn, Philip Baker Hall, Dominic Monaghan, Abigail Spencer and Nick Offerman.

Also worth a look: "Whitney," the less-loved of Whitney Cummings two sitcoms from last year, returns for a new season on NBC on Wednesday, November 14th at 8pm in the slot vacated by "Animal Practice," while "Real Time With Bill Maher" wraps its current season on HBO on Friday, November 16th at 10pm.
