'Arrested Development' Fans: Fakeblock is Now Real, But the Fake Fakeblock is Better and Funnier

George Michael and P-Hound brainstorm for Fakeblock.
Today, "Arrested Development" revealed its own, real Fakeblock app for Android and iOS, which, like many of the "Arrested Development" add-ons, gives users free bonus material by clicking a screen.  We won't spoil it, but there is at least one download-worthy bonus feature from this extra: the first one you get when you play your wood block reminds you of George Michael's (Michael Cera) history with the instrument.

But it seems a group of fans have stolen the official "Arrested Development" marketing team's thunder.  A few days ago, it seems some "AD" devotees launched the Fakeblockisreal.com website, which plays off the faux concept George Michael Bluth created when his father Michael (Jason Bateman) pushed him for details on the app he and his college roommate were creating.

They've even developed a Facebook page for the alter ego of George Michael, a certain "George Maharis." The fan-made app cleverly reflects the musical one George Michael and P-Hound are actually designing, with all the features (changing wood grain and hole diameter) they promise in the show.

The official app is free; the Fakeblockisreal.com one is $.99 on iOS and the Google Play Store.
