"Believe," the new NBC drama premiering March 10th, has a sci-fi/fantasy premise that may sound a little familiar: a girl is born with extraordinary powers, and a man finds himself conscripted to serve as her protector, with the fate of the world in the balance. But... it comes from the excellent, Oscar-nominated Alfonso Cuarón, who's executive producing the series with J.J. Abrams.
Cuarón co-created "Believe" with Mark Friedman and co-wrote the first episode, which he also directed, meaning that in the least the thing should look pretty damn snazzy. Johnny Sequoyah plays the girl, Bo; Jake McLaughlin is Tate, the wrongfully convicted death row inmate who's broken out of jail to look out for Bo; Delroy Lindo and Jamie Chung are also in the cast.
