With its second season currently underway, Cinemax's action drama "Banshee," starring Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Hoon Lee, Frankie Faison, Ulrich Thomsen and Trieste Kelly Dunn, has officially been granted a third season, set to debut in 2015.
"Banshee" tells the story of Hood, an ex-con and master thief who tracks down his former lover and partner in crime after 15 years in prison, only to find she has reinvented herself as the wife of the Banshee, PA prosecutor. In Banshee, Hood assumes the identity of the town's sheriff and continues his criminal activities, even as he's hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier.
The series is created by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler and executive produced by Alan Ball, Greg Yaitanes (the showrunner), Jonathan Tropper, David Schickler and Peter Macdissi.
Cinemax also has upcoming drama series "The Knick," directed by Academy Award and Emmy winner Steven Soderbergh and starring Academy Award and Emmy nominee Clive Owen, scheduled to debut this summer; and "Strike Back," another action series currently filming its final season.
