Exclusive: New 'Origins' Shorts Explore The Lives of 'Banshee' Characters Before The Series Began

The Cinemax action drama "Banshee" kicks off its second season on Friday, January 10th, but the series doesn't just live on cable. Showrunner Greg Yaitanes also created an Emmy-nominated transmedia experience to accompany the show at WelcomeToBanshee.com, home to a comic book series and "Banshee Origins," a collection of online videos illuminating everything that happened prior to the pilot episode, when its protagonist got out of jail after 15 years.

This past year Yaitanes shot additional "Origins" shorts revealing moments from earlier in the lives of all the main characters. Indiewire's pleased to exclusively premiere two of them, below, ahead of the "Origins" season two premiere on January 10th. The first, "Hotwire," features Lucas (Antony Starr) and Job (Hoon Lee), while the second, "The Diner," shows how Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) met her eventual husband Gordon (Rus Blackwell).

I seriously need to know Hoon Lee aka Job is THE SCHITTTTT!!!! Seriously it doesn't get anymore bad arse than him. He's brilliant, REAL, & loves Lucas like a brother trying his hardest to keep him out of trouble!!!! I live for Banshee!!! It's honestly the best show on television that you're NOT yet watching!!! & Job is a HUGE part of that!!! I pray we get to see more of Job this season & his interactions with Lucas!!!

This show is perfect. Thinking of everything from the post-credits bonus scene to these awesome mini-episodes complete with the original cast and production value. Love it
