FX's '80s espionage drama "The Americans" was one of 2013's best new series, anchored by strong turns from Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as Elizabeth and Philip Jennings, a pair of KGB spies in deep cover in the U.S. as a normal suburban couple with two kids. FX today announced that season two of the series will premiere on Wednesday, February 26 at 10pm ET/PT.
"The Americans," which was created and is executive produced by former CIA agent Joe Weisberg, was one of our picks for the best TV shows of the year.
The series is currently in production in New York, and co-stars Noah Emmerich as the Jennings' neighbor, FBI Agent Stan Beeman; Annet Mahendru as Nina, Stan's mole in the consulate and lover; Susan Misner as Stan's wife Susan; and Holly Taylor and Keidrich Sellati as the Jennings' children, who have no idea what their parents are up to.
