The show features Brooks in conversation with Alan Yentob, the BBC's creative director, discussing his career as a writer, director, actor, producer, composer, failed ballet dancer and comedian, and will include clips from "Your Show of Shows," a Brooks and Carl Reiner "2000 Year Old Man" routine, "The Producer," "Blazing Saddles" and "High Anxiety," as well as footage of Brooks performing the song "Retreat" with collaborator Ronny Graham.
This will mark HBO's second Brooks special -- the premium network received an Emmy nomination for 2011's "Mel Brooks and Dick Cavett Together Again." "Mel Brooks Strikes Back!" is produced by Steve Haberman and Rudy DeLuca.
