The film will be a mix of performance and private footage that will offer, in the words of the network's president of programming Michael Lombardo, a look at "Beyoncé the person... a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman." Beyoncé said that "Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming. This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home."
In addition to home movie footage of the actress and singer's childhood in Houston, glimpses of her live act and a look at how she works in the studio and in running Parkwood Entertainment, the business she founded, the film will offer first-person footage the performer shot herself on her laptop featuring her thoughts on celebrity, being on stage and becoming a mother. Yes, Beyoncé vlogs.
Beyoncé is also the executive producer of this project, news of which first surfaced in August when it was being shopped around to distributors. While this will mark the performer's first film directorial effort, she's co-directed several of her own music videos, including the one for "Ego," below.

I do like some of Beyonce's music, but how self involved does one have to be to do this? That is like starring in an autobiographical film as yourself. Her ego is so big it is a miracle that her and Jay-Z can even occupy the same house.
