Watch: The Trailer for the New Season of 'Homeland' Leaves Carrie and Brody's Future in Question

The most unpredictable drama on television returns to Showtime on September 29th at 9pm, and the trailer below gives some sense about what's coming in the thriller's third season.

When we last left "Homeland," the epic relationship between Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) had been hit with certain explosive complications (sorry). There's sad Carrie having made what looks like a new crazy map, Saul (Mandy Patinkin) testifying in front of Congress, Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) with a silencer, a roughed-up Brody in a mysterious location and Dana (Morgan Saylor) with her dad's prayer mat.

Last season brought some complaints that the show had taken more than one outsized twist too many -- will the series try to get back in the realms of believability, or continue along the path it's been taking? We can't wait to find out.

    WRONGO!
This must be the trailer for the DVD box set since I highly doubt that TWC & CBS-with-Showtime will their hissing battle settled before 29 September.

OK, we all know season 2 was a step down, but you cant say the decisions the show has made weren't ballsy. the boldness of scope and danger of collapse are what make this show as nerve wracking and exhilarating as watching someone walk a tightrope with no safety net. it might not be perfect, but Homeland is an essential piece of television.
