IFC announced today that the second season of its original scripted comedy "Maron" will premiere on May 8th at 10pm ET/PT.
Marc Maron, a renowned podcaster and all around hilarious dude, returns to television to live out a standup comic's noblest dream: laying his life bare in a sitcom. Laced with a healthy dosage of Maron's signature self-loathing, "Maron" is essentially a heightened portrayal of his day-to-day life. Lucky for us, stand-up comedians are some of the most tormented, fascinating people on earth, and watching them battle through their days makes for good TV.
Joining Maron in the second season of his life -- I mean his TV series -- are a host of excellent names and faces, including Bill Burr, Wyatt Cenac, David Cross, Joey “Coco” Diaz, Paul Feig, Chris Hardwick, Rachael Harris, Michael Ian Black, Moshe Kasher, Tom Kenny, Johnny Knoxville, Dave Koechner, Tig Notaro, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Pardo, Eddie Pepitone, Caroline Rhea, Andy Richter, Richard Riehle, Rob Riggle, Ray Romano, Sarah Silverman and Nora Zehetner.
Judd Hirsch and Sally Kellerman will be returning as Marc's father and mother, Andy Kindler is back as his close friend and Josh Brener as his overeager assistant. Fellow podcaster Dave Anthony will also being joining the cast.
