Apologies to those "Community" fans still clutching their homemade Inspector Spacetime action figures, but it looks like a potential new season of the canceled comedy series will be lacking for at least a little while longer. And it's Lena Dunham's fault.
According to TV Line, Gillian Jacobs will be a recurring player in the fourth season of "Girls." While presumably a little bit older than the show's titular people of female extraction, that doesn't mean her character of "Mimi-Rose" won't share in the same arrested development that brought Britta to Greendale in the first place.
It's only a recurring part, but it's still one that will take Jacobs to New York, and marks the first high-profile role a "Community" performer has accepted. Should this trend continue, it could prove problematic if, like many series before, the show found new life on one of many potential streaming services.
So maybe the news means this time, it really is time to graduate.
