'Nurse Jackie' Renewed by Showtime for Seventh Season

The award-winning comedy has been renewed for another season in advance of its April 13th premiere.

Edie Falco fans rejoice. The Emmy-winning actress will return for a seventh season of "Nurse Jackie," Showtime announced Monday. Picked up before its season six premiere April 13th, cast and crew will begin shooting the new season later this year in New York. 

"Nurse Jackie" showed improvement in its fifth season, ratings-wise, rising 14 percent in viewers. The half-hour comedy has been nominated for Best Comedy at both the Golden Globes and Emmys. 

The sixth season begins April 13th at 9pm on Showtime.
