NBC announced that it's giving the greenlight to a four-hour "Rosemary's Baby" miniseries, an adaptation of Ira Levin's bestselling novel turned motion picture by Roman Polanski. The project was first announced in July at the TCA Summer Press Tour.
This new "Rosemary's Baby" is set to be shot in Paris this January. It will be produced by Lionsgate Television, headed by executive producers Joshua Maurer, Alix Witlin, and David Stern.
Scott Abbott ("Introducing Dorothy Dandridge," "Winchell") and James Wong ("American Horror Story") will write the screenplay, while Oscar nominee Agnieszka Holland ("In Darkness," "The Wire"), will direct. Casting has yet to be announced.
"Ira Levin's mesmerizing book was a groundbreaking reflection on how effective and influential a psychological thriller could be," said NBC's Quinn Taylor. "We're looking forward to adapting his incredible work and bringing those indelible characters to a new generation of viewers."
