Although the popular U.K. drama won't wrap up its fourth season in the U.S. until February 23rd, Carnival Films and ITV have announced that Richard E. Grant ("Girls"), Anna Chancellor ("How I Live Now") and Rade Sherbedgia ("Taken 2") will join the next season of "Downton Abbey."
Grant, who's coming off an arc on "Girls," is slated to play Simon Bricker, who arrives at Downton as a guest of the Granthams. Chancellor will appear as Lady Anstruther and Rade Sherbedgia will play Kuragin, a Russian refugee who fled from the Russian Revolution.
In addition to these roles, Dame Harriet Walter and Peter Egan will return as Lady Shackleton and Lord Flintshire.
“We are delighted to welcome these talented actors to the world of Downton," "Downton Abbev" Executive Producer and Managing Director of Carnival Films Gareth Neame said. "The characters they play are set to bring yet more excitement and intrigue to the show."
The fifth season will follow the show's previous eight-episode format, with a two-hour Christmas episode premiering during the holidays in the U.K. The series will premiere at a later date in the U.S.
