The lights go out all over Manhattan in the second teaser for "The Strain," the new vampire series from Guillermo del Toro premiering on FX this July. The network's been playing mysterious with its first promos for the drama, which offer up creepy imagery rather than any details about the story -- take a look at the first teaser here. Even a longer trailer that was shown to journalists at the TCA press tour this month provided footage of the stars, including lead Corey Stoll, but no clear views of the vampires. Showrunner Carlton Cuse ("Lost," "Bates Motel") promised that after "The Strain," "you will never look at vampires the same way again. These are not sparkly brooding dudes with fangs and romantic problems. These vampires are scary creatures, and this is a really original re-imagining of vampire lore, and I think it also says some things about the kind of precariousness of our modern world."
