'American Horror Story' Season Four Gets a Setting, Time Period and Name: 'Freak Show'

Jessica Lange in 'American Horror Story: Coven' Michele K. Short/FX

The fourth season of "American Horror Story" is going to be set in a creepy carnival. As if everyone wasn't sold already, the show has picked up an enticing title: "Freak Show," as series creator Ryan Murphy announced on Twitter today.

Entertainment Weekly has more details. According to them, "AHS: Freak Show" will be "set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950 [with] Jessica Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S." Rest assured, it will be profoundly twisted.

"Coven" alums Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett and Frances Conroy are all set to play performers in Lange's freak show, with Denis O’Hare and Emma Roberts also in talks to return.

I thought Lang wasn't going to be in this next season.

Coven was an embarrassment to television. Hopefully season 4 will suck a hell of a lot less.
