1950s Miami is set to once again come to life on Starz, as today the premium network announced a second season premiere date for "Magic City." The series will return on Friday, June 14th at 9pm ET.
Season two will continue the story of Ike Evans (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), owner of the ritzy Miramar Playa Hotel, who is risking his business and, potentially, his family in the dangerous undertaking of cleaning up his hotel of any mob dealings. The show's second season promises to bring more political undertones to the drama and to further the rifts in the Evans family saga.
New cast members include Academy Award nominee James Caan (“The Godfather”), who will play Sy Berman, a Chicago mob boss, and Esai Morales, who'll play former Castra aide and Cuba freedom fighter Carlos "El Tiburon" Ruiz. They join the returning Danny Huston, Olga Kurylenko, Steven Strait, Christian Cooke and Kelly Lynch. The series, which was created and is executive produced by Mitch Glazer ("Passion Play," "Scrooged"), was renewed for a second season before the first's premiere on March 30 of last year.
